The Director, HR Operations and Payroll builds HR and payroll systems and processes that will help elevate our people operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policy, in addition to ensuring that our HR and payroll processes are streamlined and efficient, enabling our operations team to provide a customer-centric employee experience.
This role will work in partnership with all members of the HR team and cross-functionally with other departments to ensure HR processes are seamless and efficient throughout the employee lifecycle.

HR Operations:
Manage, optimize, and document People related operations and processes, communications, policies, and procedures through the Americas in support of our HR operations strategy and programs in accordance with company policy/guidelines Work with multi -functional team members to understand business requirements and communicate system capabilities/limitations while using in-depth knowledge of HRIS systems to solve complex issues by proposing creative solutions and recommendations for people operations improvements Drive measurable improvements through automation of business requirements and employee process friction points reducing process cycle times and improving employee satisfaction Provide input on policies and core business processes to reduce legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with HR team in areas such as:
on-boarding, career development, performance management, promotion, and terminations to ensure that organizational priorities are addressed in how we work Partner with Manager, Benefits and Wellness to ensure seamless administration of Benefits programs and annual open enrollment Oversee completion of required state and federal reporting Establish and foster positive relationships with employees, managers, executives, at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders while maintaining extreme confidentiality Manage the HR Solutions team and provide day-to-day coaching Payroll:
Manage the payroll team and lead the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy, and reporting on performance relative to budgets Lead and oversee regional payroll strategy in the Americas, including effort to align, streamline and improve oversight of payroll operations in Canadian, Brazilian, Mexican, Chilean, Argentinian and Peruvian subsidiaries Ensure robust compliance and controls across all payroll and benefits programs, procedures and transactions, with specific attention to payroll tax requirements Conduct audits of tax forms and payroll balance sheets, as necessary Act as internal consultant and functional expert with employees and company leadership/committees Collaboration, Communication, and Compliance:
Prepare and review internal communications related to payroll and HR Solutions, in collaboration with Corporate Communications, Total Rewards, legal and other strategic advisors Partner with regulatory affairs team to monitor market for regulatory changes and prepare Brother to implement changes as required Ensure robust compliance and controls across all payroll and HR policies/programs, procedures and transactions, as per government regulations, with specific attention to payroll tax requirement Act as functional expert and liaison to IT (HRIS/Payroll) Promote solutions that are scalable and, when possible, developed with plans (or the potential, as appropriate) to be rolled out across the Americas --- Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field 10
years of experience managing an HR Operations function for a mid-sized company, including administration, compliance, and related reporting; managing a payroll function with international experience (preferred) Workday HCM (Configuration, testing, management) Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal, written) with a focus on collaboration across multiple functions Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects/functions Proven ability to convert ideas into solutions and execute on continuous process improvements Financial/business acumen, with emphasis on payroll knowledge Strong knowledge of HR Employment administration and all related regulations/laws Brother International Corporation has earned its reputation as a premier provider of home office and business products, home appliances for the sewing and crafting enthusiast as well as industrial solutions that revolutionize the way we live and work.
