This popular restaurant chain is looking for a dynamic hands-on individual with experience in accounting for multi-unit restaurants with transactions between a multitude of different entities, to serve as the company Controller. The basic responsibilities will include overseeing all of the day to day accounting, audit, tax, and administrative functions for operations throughout a wide scope area. Responsibilities Include
oDirects the timely & accurate preparation of all financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports for month end and year end process
oEnsures proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
oAnalyzes period financial statements and provides commentary for management reporting
oEstablishes and implements corporate financial and accounting policies, procedures, and structures for accounting, budgeting, taxes, planning and forecasting, financial reporting, and performance measurement
oResponsible for verifying accuracy of all recorded data
oManages the budget-forecast process
oManages period, quarter, and year-end close process
oManages the daily audit process and prepares audit materials to facilitate internal and external audits
oDevelops accounting policies and procedures to be used by corporate and field locations
oOversees accounts payable and payroll processes
oResponsible for preparation, review, and issuance of financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports
oAssist in the strategic planning process and preparing of strategic plan financial statements
oImplement, document, maintain and ensure compliance with accounting internal controls and procedures
oOversee cash management and controls
oEnsure full contract and management agreement compliance
oResponsible for compliance with tax and business laws
Qualifications and Skills
oBachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance
oMinimum of 5-7 years of related accounting (Controller) experience (in a multi-unit structure)
oCPA and prior public accounting experience preferred
oMust have experience with fixed assets systems
oMust be knowledgeable of tax laws
oMust have experience in implementing proper internal control procedures and audit process
oMust be dynamic and hands-on
oAdvanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, look-ups and analytics) and Word, required
oStrong written and verbal communication skills
oAbility to automate and streamline closing process and other procedures
oStrong background in implementing best practice controls and procedures
oPossesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills
oTeam player who has high energy and a positive attitude
oFlexible and self-directed worker with ability to stay focused and meet goals, while working independently as well as with a team
oMulti-tasking skills, attaining deadlines, and ability to remain effective and patient under pressure
oEnsure that data is accurate and work is thorough and to the highest standard
oDetail oriented and analyticalEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
